Steamboat on the 7th day showed little change. Since there were several geyser-watchers of repute in the vicinity all day, no periodic half-hour checks were kept. The characteristic behavior today was still sustained splashing from both vents and very infrequently, strong surges from the south vent. At no time was the north vent strongly active with the south vent. Strong surges were noticed form the early morning to late evening.
The water level remained high and may have risen since yesterday – This is not certain, however. There was again very little runoff. |
