Note: | June 3 1979 Echinus had another long eruption this morning. I started watching at 0920 but had no idea when Echinus began. Finally stopping at 1000. Pool drained rapidly with large whirlpool, then went into steam phase. During these long eruptions the water level is about 3” below the rim which means that the rate of overflow is less than during a “typical” eruption. |
