Note: | 09/06/1974 Echinus – The 1629 eruption – Interval was 95 minutes. Overflow began at about 75 minutes and was extremely heavy – it took only 2 minutes to reach the waterfall (north runoff) about 4 minutes to reach Tantalus Creek. The eruption lasted 5 ½ non-stop minutes and was easily the most spectacular I’ve ever seen with many 80-100’ bursts. Several rocks were expelled, water reached the benches 8 (!) times (and me once). |
