Note:Abyss is still very hot. Lots of bubbles along the edge and in the middle of the pool - increasing and decreasing as I watched, though I didn't take times down due to the volume of steam. There were little "dimples" in the water - tiny little whirlpools - especially on the edge of upwelling water. I haven't seen those before. Plus, without many people, I could hear very soft thumps occasionally. They randomly occurred in the time I was there and were best heard from the boardwalk spur side of the pool. In addition, the pools "Above Abyss" (across the boardwalk spur) had slightly higher water levels and there was evidence of runoff channels in the dirt, though the water level while I was there was below overflow. The trees that started to die in that area looked no more stressed than they have over the past few weeks, so no change there.
