Note:- no times noted - No regular observations have been made during the past month, but Assistant Park Naturalist Scherer observed Emerald Spring on two occasions October 21 and 25. On the first day the cycles of eruptions consumed 38 minutes, on the latter date two cycles were observed at intervals of only a few seconds, the second cycle starting almost immediately upon the draining of the basin following the previous eruption. The second eruption continued for 42 minutes, water being discharged to a height of 25 feet. The eruptions were very violent and the steam discharged in such a volume as to be noticeable for some distance away. The water was also very muddy.
