Note: | 8/1/1987 “By 8/1 Echinus appeared to have returned to an eruptive pattern similar to that of 6/22 through 7/1. Through the remainder of the summer, Echinus was never observed to have more than one super eruption during daylight hours. At the time of this writing (9/16) Echinus was still having a single lengthy interval on most days, as in the 48 minute eruption of 9/14/87.
Intervals through August and early September ranged from 46 to 70 minutes. The average of 58 intervals from 8/1 through 9/14 was approximately 57.7 minutes, the average duration of eruption 9¾ minutes.” Peter Allen 1987 Annual rept – no specific eruption times noted - see also Note 7-7 |
