Note: | At 9 AM, was in pretty mild steam phase, geyser icicles in the trees. I returned at 10:00 AM after hearing sound increasing from the museum area, and the north vent was blasting water (with some mud) with max heights of at least 150 ft. with fluctuating powerful steam out of the south vent. It was similar to the crazy fluctuating bursts during the water phase of the last eruption. This continued for at least half an hour. Upon returning at 11:30, the north vent was in steady continuous water above 100 ft. with mild steam from the south vent. Quite a show. "Steam phase" seems to be a misnomer. Will continue to monitor as much as possible. |
