UNNG-NPR-8 “Trinket Geyser” Small geyser on the flat ~116 feet NE of Yellow Crown Crater, first known recent report via S. Eide Autumn 2019 {SPUT Vol 3 #5} after the Whale’s Mouth section of boardwalk reopened (closed ~2 years); possibly active in Spring of 1986. Informally named due to proximity to the Crown Jewels Springs area. NOTE: this was not present during the NPS 2018 Thermal Inventory per photo documentation. (Entries largely appear after it was added to the GT database in Oct 2021.) |
