| Comments: | From the West Thumb Thermal Log at Grant: Black Pool erupted sometime today during the early morning hours. Pool's clear, bluish tint has been altered. Pool is now very muddy with silt and particles of geyserite scattered across portions of the boardwalk. Hot water has killed much of the algal mats growing on the lake side of boardwalk. Evidence of hot water runoff (to the N & E) in previously undisturbed sections of snow. Pool's temperature at 1130 on 2/14/92: 180°. |
