| Comments: | water was erupted for about an hour. This was gradually replaced by a steam phase which continued during that afternoon and the greater part of the following day. The Ledge erupted from both vents though the greater part of the eruption was from the northern vent from which the water was thrown at an angle of 45 degrees to an approximate height of 30 feet. The eruption was preceded for two days by unusual activity in which jets of water were thrown at times from both vents to heights of approximately 20 feet. |
