Comments: | Arrived at 1600 to find all vents off. At 1608 water was rising in Bottom Vent and Lower Mortar. Main Vent had several strong huffs with steam acceleration around 1608. River on 1614. River off 1620 to begin River Pause. First Main Vent splash at 1621. Main had frequent and thick vertical splashing that remained inside the crater. River on at 1632 with continued Main Vent splashing. First River Pause was 12 minutes. Bottom Vent erupted for approximately 30 seconds at 1633. River off at 1639 to begin second River Pause. Main Vent continued to have thick splashes within the crater. River on at 1644 to end second River Pause (Pause of 6 minutes). Bottom Vent erupted for approximately one minute at 1645. Last Main Vent splash at 1653. Gold on 1705. Angle on 1710. Water levels were variable for the first 10 minutes after Angle started. At about 1720 they improved markedly. High had periods of sustained jetting lasting about 30 seconds. Gold was sustaining for about the same amount of time and its pool remained visible even when it wasn't really erupting. Around 1725 water levels dropped quickly and never recovered. No eruption. |
