Comments: | WOW! Angle Geyser complex, Sprinkler Group, Lower Geyser Basin. Probably the "Reverse Firehose" reported a couple weeks ago. Filmed (awful - obscuring steam & people stomping on boardwalk). Decent-sized eruption from 1349 to 1352, with slender column angled slightly to the left (as seen from the Fountain overlook platform). Erupting vent appears to be ~directly behind Little Miser Geyser's vent. Location and eruption behavior are consistent with vent 4 of Wolf & Paperiello (1989, Report on the Kaleidoscope & Sprinkler Groups, pp. 25, 26, 31, 32) (= located at 44° 33' 15.30" North latitude, 110° 48' 41.43" West longitude). I've previously reported this vent as having tiny spouting - those reports are probably referring to the wrong vent - those tiny eruptions may be coming from "Northeast Angle Geyser" of Landis (1989) (= vent 8 of Wolf & Paperiello, 1989). |
