There may have been another pause, but wind, heavy steam, and bright reflective conditions made a firm determination a challenge. 1830 last MV splash for a 23 min total. 1844 GV on. 1849 AV on. Water levels were good and at times seemed promising up until 1856 and then began to diminish. Upper Mortar did not show any indication of eruptive energy. By 1902 it was apparent there would be no eruption. |
